Overcup Oak – 15 Gallon Container

The Overcup Oak (Quercus lyrata) is a tough, native oak species known for its adaptability to wet soils, rounded canopy, and classic oak leaf shape. This long-lived shade tree is perfect for low-lying areas, clay soils, or poorly drained landscapes, while still thriving on upland sites—making it one of the most versatile oaks in the Southeastern U.S.

In a 15-gallon container, the Overcup Oak is well-rooted and ready for fast establishment. It features large, glossy green leaves that turn a mix of yellow and brown in fall, and produces uniquely shaped acorns almost completely enclosed by their caps—hence the name "overcup."

This oak is low-maintenance, wildlife-friendly, and exceptionally durable once established. It’s a great choice for shade, reforestation, wetland edges, or large residential lots.
